There is no formal, separate Lab. Instead, the labs (approximately 20) are integrated
into nearly every class.
Textbook: Web 101: Making the 'Net Work for You , Second
Edition, Wendy Lehnert. Addison-Wesley, 2003. Feel free to buy it used. But note that the 1st edition is quite a bit more out of date than the 2nd edition. On reserve in the Science Library.
Enrollment: Limited to 30. Can exceed this slightly, there is always a bit of melt.
Enrollment Status:The course is now closed. Sorry! Course is overfull. I admitted everyone on the
waiting list, and everyone who came Monday.
Assignments: There will be five assignments, rougly one per week, comprising
60% of the course grade.
Quizzes: There will be five (untimed, self-scheduled)
quizzes,
one per week, comprising 40% of the course grade. They will be based
largely on the reading, but not solely.
Assignments/Quizzes Schedule: Always due early Thursday morning. (But see the Syllabus for some exceptions.) This gives us time to go over the material in class during the week, and gives me time to evaluate your submissions by the following Monday.
Grading: As just detailed, the assignments count 60%,
and the quizzes 40%, of the final grade. There are no other tests,
papers, or projects.
