Instructions for Completing Assignments and Quizzes

 

Assignments

  1. You will need the free Acrobat Reader to view and print the assignments. (It should be already installed on all campus machines.)
  2. Assignments will be collected and graded electronically. They are due Mondays at 9:00 AM unless otherwise noted, and should be submitted using Moodle. Adobe PDF is the preferred format. (You can convert a Word document to PDF on most Smith computers.)
  3. Please include your first and last name, as well as the assignment number, in the name of the file you are submitting. For example: Nick_Howe_Assignment_2.pdf

Quizzes

  1. Quizzes will be completed electronically on the course Moodle site. They will be assigned on Monday and are due Wednesdays at 9:00 AM.
  2. You may not talk with others about the quizzes. See the official collaboration policy.
  3. Quiz questions may cover material from the lectures, the labs, and/or the readings.
  4. Take your time. Consider printing out the quiz and completing it on paper before submitting.
  5. If you think a question is ambiguous or unclear, send email to the professor.
  6. It may be harder than you initially think to get everything correct. It will usually not suffice to know roughly what's going on--often you will have to know precisely what's going on, the precise meaning of technical terms, etc.
