Meeting Times: MWF 1:30 – 2:30
Course Content: An introduction to the problems and methodology of artificial intelligence. Topics to be covered include: problem-solving, reasoning, knowledge representation, learning, and natural language processing. The AI programming language Lisp will be taught and used for projects.
Textbooks: Stuart Russell & Peter Norvig, Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach
Paul Graham, Ansi Common Lisp
Course Work: Weekly/biweekly assignments will consist of programming and problem-solving. Assignments will be distributed and due on Fridays. There will also be two take-home open book exams. The first will be distributed on Oct. 17 and due on Oct. 22; the second will be distributed on the last day of classes and due at the end of the final examination period.
Course Grade: The assignments will count for 70% of your course grade, the midterm exam for 15%, and the final exam for 15%.
